I am Dr. Baruch HaLevi, aka “B.” I am the founder of The Defiant Spirit Counseling, Coaching, and Consulting, and creator of Man UPrising, a place and program for men to gather, connect and grow in the second half of life.
The second half of life can be the most meaningful, purposeful and powerful time of a man’s life if he is willing to do his real work – inner work, set new goals for himself, and discover new ways of being in the world.
Most of all, what a man needs during this phase is a community of like minded and hearted men; men ready to finally and fully rise up in their lives.

Man UPrising Peer Groups
At the heart of Man UPrising is our Peer Group Experience.
A Man UPrising Forum, or Peer Group is…
- 7-9 men who meet in person, in Denver, CO
- A once a month meeting for 4 hours
- A 12 month minimum commitment
- A $100/month or $1000/year investment
Peer Groups are a structured meeting utilizing the content of the Man UPrising curriculum, and most importantly, an opportunity for you to share your life and whatever you are experiencing or enduring, with other men.
Each meeting is broken down into units, consisting of
- Personal Check-ins: An opportunity for each member to share about themselves, what they are going through, and bear witness of one another’s journeys
- Group Exploration : A group conversation around that month’s topic, corresponding to the Man UPrising curriculum
- Individual Coaching / Mastermind: An opportunity for group coaching to work through and grow in whatever it is you want to bring to the group
